Electronic visas to foreigners will be granted by embassies too
The process of granting electronic visas to foreign citizens will attract not only local travel agencies.
According to the head of the Azerbaijan Tourism Association (Azta) Nahid Bagirov, by order of the President to grant electronic visas, travel agencies will also be involved in this process, as the representatives of the tourism industry, which provides travel vouchers, which are the main element of the tourist.
According to him, there was previously provided "monopoly" for travel companies for this kind of services for example in Asia (for example, the emirate of Dubai), but now they have decided to attract to this business foreign consulates and embassies, and technical experts involved in the MNS.
Unlike the old rule (visas only through travel agencies), foreign nationals coming into the country as tourists will be able to make visas for themselves in the online mode.
According to the presidential decree of 30 November 2012, the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan Republic for 10 days should organize the process of fingerprinting foreigners and stateless persons in obtaining visas to Azerbaijan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the same term should place on the official web-resources of the embassies and consulates of Azerbaijan abroad detailed information on all documents and requirements to obtain official visas electronically. Agencies to conduct appropriate training for those involved in the provision of electronic visas embassy and consulates.
In parallel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Security are ordered as soon as possible to begin providing electronic tourist visa through the embassies and consulates of the country abroad.

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today.
