EU Waiting for Proposals from Azerbaijan on Aviation Agreement - EU Ambassador
Baku / 12.07.19 / Turan: "The visit of the President of the European Council Donald Tusk to Azerbaijan was successful and the parties confirmed their intentions to develop cooperation," the head of the European Union office in Azerbaijan, Kestutis Yankauskas, told reporters today.
The Ambassador once again stressed that negotiations on a new agreement between the EU and Azerbaijan are at the last stage.
"At a meeting with Donald Tusk, President Ilham Aliyev noted that many issues under the new agreement had already found their solution, and the rest would be resolved in a spirit of partnership," the Ambassador said.
K. Yankauskas said the EU wants to complete negotiations and sign a new agreement.
He also recalled that since 2017, the parties have again updated the negotiations on the aviation agreement.
"Aviation agreement will be useful for Azerbaijan both in terms of diversification of the economy, tourism growth, and the creation of a transport hub, which Azerbaijan seeks. At present, we are waiting for proposals from the Azerbaijani side on the aviation agreement," said K. Yankauskas.
At the same time, the Ambassador noted that until the agreement is signed every day is lost in terms of lost large opportunities. -71С-
