Even the State Statistics Committee acknowledges the unpopularity of "plastic" trade
In January-July, the citizens of Azerbaijan for commodities spent 10.7 billion manat (+9.2% compared to the same period last year).
According to the State Statistics Committee, the majority of funds (52.1%) occurred on food. Officialdom emphasizes that the proportion of non-food products (47.9%) grew by 4.5% in comparison with the position on 1 August 2012.
In the first half via plastic cards sellers gain by selling 1.3 million manat, which is 1.7 times higher than last year. At the same time 86.1% of the turnover of electronic trading - the share of legal persons, and 92.8% spent on non-food items, suggesting the unpopularity and lack of a mechanism to promote this kind of trade. - 17D-

Azerbaijan’s imports of animal and vegetable fats and oils climbed 23.9% by weight and 16.2% by value from January to September 2024, official data revealed. Despite the uptick in volume, the import cost of these products saw a decrease compared to the same period last year, with the cost per ton of vegetable oil falling by 6.1% to $1,199.6 in 2024, down from $1,278.6 in 2023.
