Finca Azerbaijan to Pay for Scholarships of 18 Students throughout Year
The non-bank credit organization Finca Azerbaijan completed the project "Turn knowledge into capital" in the student scholarship program.
According to the Acting Director of Finca Marco De Natale at a press conference in Baku, the program, which started on the Knowledge Day on September 15, involved freshmen - the kids of active, but poor clients of the organization, who received the highest scores on the entrance exams.
Of the 58 students, who applied for scholarship assistance, 18 people were selected. Basically, they are representatives of various provinces - six from the western economic region, five from the southern and five from the central region and two people from Absheron. Each of them during the year will receive a monthly stipend of 100 manats.
According to the Director, the total loan portfolio of the organization is about $ 200 million with the addition of 25 % compared with the end of last year (up to 2012 it was just over $ 151.8 million). This has allowed Finca to become one of the largest players in the financial market of Azerbaijan.
According to the official data of the organization, the total loans issued since the founding of Finca Azerbaijan are up to $ 1 billion. The organization deals with 150,000 customers in 33 branches and sub-offices throughout the country. -17D-

Entrepreneurs operating in markets across Azerbaijan will be required to register for taxation. Failure to do so will result in a financial penalty of 2,000 manat for each unregistered entrepreneur, imposed on market owners or administrators. This requirement is included in proposed amendments to the Tax Code, set to be discussed in Parliament.
