As a result of next stage of optimization this year, 43 bus routes in Baku will be eliminated. On 1 December, the Ministry of Transport has started the next phase of optimization of bus routes in Baku. In December 2011, 93 bus routes were eliminated.
Currently, there are 217 in Baku bus routes. The Ministry of Transport plans to reduce them to 174. Passengers usually learn about the next action of the Ministry of Transport in the streets from dispatchers and drivers. There is not any information on the website of the Ministry. There is not even a web resource of the State Service on road transport.
According to the Ministry of Transportation, in 2012, 200 large buses were on line, and 250 buses of medium capacity. For the beginning of 2013, there are 2,321 buses, including 1423 large buses, 985 medium buses, and 14 small buses. --08D--
