From now on Statoil to be involved in scientific exploration in Azerbaijan
Helge Lund, who has left the position of Statoil CEO, will continue working for the company till March 1, 2015.
The Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (AMEA), reported that Akif Alizada, Academy President, has received Lund and Bard Ivar Svendsen, Norwegian Ambassador to Azerbaijan.
“After Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli it is important to discover new oil fields in Azerbaijan and Statoil has recently focused its attention in this sector,” Lund said at the meeting.
He said the Norwegian Statoil company has established cooperation with several high educational institutions of Azerbaijan.
“It is advisable to work out recommendations for development of joint innovations in fields of science and technology in the future,” Lund said.
Alizada has invited him to the first Science Festival, which will be held in Baku on November 10 and 11, 2014.
Since March 2, 2015 Lund will work for British BG Group company.—0—
