From the beginning of 2013, the number of hired workers increased by 0.75 %
As of the 1st of September this year in Azerbaijan work 1 491.9 thousand hired employees. It is 11.2 thousand or 0.75 % more than at the beginning of the year.
According to the Statistics Committee, employed by the first of October of this year were 4 504.4 thousand people. In view of the economically active population, unemployment amounted to 238.1 thousand people. Compared with the fourth quarter of last year, unemployment decreased 5.4 thousand people. Official unemployment rate was 5.02 %.
Note that by the beginning of October registered as unemployed were 36.9 thousand people. Of these, unemployment benefits (259.5 manat per month) were granted to 975 people. - 08D -

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
