GDP in Nominal Terms Increased by 6 Billion Manat
Baku18.09.17 // Turan: Azerbaijan's gross domestic product for eight months of this year amounted to 43.7 billion manat, which is 1.1% less in comparable prices than in the same period in 2016, the State Statistics Committee said.
At the same time, in nominal prices GDP production increased by about 6.1 billion manat. In other words, the real GDP index has decreased, and the growth rate in value terms is the result of the "price bubble".
According to official data, GDP in the oil and gas sector production decreased by 7.6%, while in the non-oil sector (27.4 billion manat), 2.4% growth was recorded.
GDP per capita in January-August 2017 was about 4,500 manat. In comparable prices this is 4.3% less than the index in the same period last year.
According to international expert estimates, at least 60% of GDP produced in Azerbaijan is not taken into account and becomes a basis for corruption. Azerbaijan is the world leader in terms of the unaccounted economy level. -----08D
