Gubad Ibadoglu: ‘Next Year Large-scale Privatization Not Expected in Azerbaijan
An analysis of the revenue side of the draft state budget of Azerbaijan Finance Ministry presented today shows that in the next year in Azerbaijan large-scale privatization is not expected, says the economist Gubad Ibadoglu.
The expert on his profile in the Facebook social networking site said the draft budget indicated that the income in 2017 from the lease of land under the state property, privatized state enterprises and facilities was projected 1 million manats more than in 2016.
‘The formation of 62% or 10 billion manats of income will accrue to businesses and manufacturers,’ said Ibadoglu.
The expert noted that significant growth regards revenue from paid services provided by budgetary organizations.
‘The increase in revenues from these sources is forecasted at the level of 48 million AZN, which means, in turn, 20% higher prices of paid education,’ said Ibadoglu.
Note that according to the draft state budget of Azerbaijan for 2017 revenue is projected at 15.9 billion AZN and expenditures are projected at 16.6 billion manats. -------71B

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less.
