Eldar Sabiroglu speaks about inhuman conditions of detention of his son
Eldar Sabiroglu, father of former investigator of Zardab prosecutor Office Rufat Safarov, said the deterioration of his son’s health in the Baku prison. Sabiroglu said Turan, that in thneward where his son is kept there is no glass in thewindow. Despite repeated requests to put the glass, this is not done. As a result of the cold, Safarov became ill. "Rufat called today. He was coughing heavily and his voice was weak. He said he caught a bad cold, and has a high fever," said Sabiroglu.
"Rufat is suibjected to pressure, it is actually torture. His has unjustifiably been sentenced to 9 years, but why they keep him in a cold ward?" he said.
Public relations department of the Penitentiary Service told Turan said that at present there are no problems in his ward.—03B--

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
