Half of the proceeds goes to the municipal maintenance of their machine
In 2012, about half of the budgets of local authorities went to the content of their executive staff. However, many municipalities give their managers and workers meager wages.
In 2012, the total revenue budget 1718 municipalities in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 35 860.5. This represents only 0.2% of the revenues of the state budget in 2012, indicating that the role of local government in public administration.
Parliamentary majority believes that it is impossible to give municipalities the authority of the European scale, as they can not cope with their execution. Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
