Hotel revenues increased by 34.3%
Revenues of the 514 hotels and hotel-type facilities in Azerbaijan in 2013 amounted to 154 million manat. This is a 34.3% increase over the previous year. The increase in revenue is due an increase in the flow of foreign tourists, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
The bulk of revenues (71.8%) have been earned from the sale of rooms. The balance sheet profit of hotels with the growth of expenditure by 24.8% is to reach 43.3 million manat.
In the past year the number of hotel guests increased in comparison with 2011 by 22.5% to 625 thousand people, of which 83.4% were tourists. In this case, 59.5% of them are accounted for by foreign nationals. In comparison with 2011 the number of foreign guests of hotels increased by 44.2%. Azerbaijan is the most visited by tourists from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Iran, Turkey, Georgia, Ukraine, China and Kazakhstan.
According to the registration data, a third of hotel guests in Azerbaijan in 2012 were residents of the city of Baku.
The number of nights spent in hotels in 2012 increased by 9.1% and amounted to 1 640.9 thousand / day, of which 57.3% are accounted for Baku hotels. In general, the average occupancy of hotel rooms in the past year was 13.7%.
According to the SSC, 94.7% of hotels in Azerbaijan are in private ownership. In hotels there are 15.9 thousand rooms, which can take at the same time 32.8 million people. The bulk of tourist accommodation accounted for Baku city, where there are 10.2 thousand rooms are able to place 22.6 million people at a time. - 08D-
