Imports of Gas Meters Almost Doubled
Baku/ 1.05.19/Turan: In the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan purchased 62.3 thousand gas meters abroad, which is 1.8 times more than in the comparable period of 2018, the State Customs Committee told Turan.
The meters were purchased mainly in France (33.3 thousand units) and China (28.8 thousand units). A French-made gas meter was purchased at an average price of $ 89.5, while a Chinese-made was purchased at $ 24.
According to the Azerigaz Production Association, over four months of this year over 38,000 new natural gas customers were registered.
In 2016-2018, 451.7 thousand gas meters were imported with a total declared value of over $ 33 million. --0--

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
