In 2013,  six people died and 33 were injured  in the oil sector, said .

 
At a press conference on January 31 at the end of last year, said  at the press conference Mirvari Gahramanli ,chairman of the Committee to Protect Petroleum Workers. According to her, due to the massive increase in the number of occupational diseases and injuries continue labor litigation with SOCAR , the  companies Maersk and RCB (Riqblast). Lawsuits  have been filed in courts  of Garadag, Nasimi , Sabail districts of the capital, and also in the Baku Court of Appeal.
     Last year was violated again the 105th article of the Convention of the International Labor Organization, as well as Article 154 of the Labor Code.
    According to Gahramanli, for more than two years, workers of “Azerneftyanajag” and refineries under the guise of community work day work on weekends (Saturday and Sunday.) They are called to work illegally, but these days they are not paid at double the rate , as required by law. If someone of workers appeal in relation to this matter, then they are told that payment for such days is not provided. Those who  defend their human rights , threaten termination of the employment agreement.
    Mirvari Gahramanli  reported with a sense of concern that the company SOCAR , BP, Statoyl, Stork, SOCAR CAPE, Maersk, Enermek prevent  the creation of unions and  holding meetings.
     According to human rights activist , in 2013 were violated the  Articles 17th and 19th  of the law on the state language; thus, there is a discrimination against  employees not knowing English. In hiring  the  Azeri  speaking employees, regardless of their degree of professionalism, all kinds of troubles are caused.  All documentation in foreign companies, except for employment contracts, is in English . In the first  and main  language in foreign companies is English, and the second - Russian. In official identity  the word SOCAR  is written in English.  The same inscription is on all administrative buildings.
