In early 2012 SOCAR could own Baskent Gaz distribution company
Turkish Privatization Agency has put to auction 100% share of Baskent Gaz distribution company.
The deadline for submission of application expires on December 17, 2012. The auction for sale 80% shares of the company for $626 million was cancelled in April 2012, because all four pretenders dropped out of the contest. The pretenders included Akfen Holding, Aygaz and Fernas consortium, STFA Yatirim Holding and the consortium of Kolin and Cengiz Limak companies.
Baskent Gas numbers 1.35 million clients and in the future the company could have 500,000 more consumers.
At the end of December 2011 SOCAR decided to take part at the privatization of Baskent Gas distribution company. Later SOCAR administration reported that since 2011 Turkish agencies granted it a license for sale of natural gas at the local market of the country. For this reason SOCAR takes this tender seriously.
According to the terms and conditions of the tender, the winner will have to pay 50% cost of the tender and the remaining 50% 2 years after concluding the contract.-0-

In recent days, there have been claims that bread prices in Azerbaijan have risen. Social media users report that the price of bread has increased by 5-10 qepiks. According to consumer complaints, it is difficult to find weight information on factory-produced bread, commonly known as "zavod çörəyi" in Azerbaijan. In many cases, bread packaging does not include weight details. Similarly, bread sold at smaller bakeries and tandir houses often lacks information apart from the price.
