In May, Customs to Be Completely Converted to Electronic Declaration System
In the beginning of May all the customs authorities will switch to receive declarations in electronic form. It was said at the April 9 Cabinet meeting by the chairman of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev.
This process began on April 4 and provides for the creation of conditions for the provision of electronic declaration of goods and vehicles through customs representatives.
In order to fulfill payment of customs duty, a working group waqs established in connection with the creation of post offices in the customs border checkpoints, said Aydin Aliyev.
The head of the State Customs Committee said work is being done on implementation and other tasks emanating from the President’s order on March 4 this year to reform the customs system. This will lead o full transparency in conducting export-import operations, minimize the contact officer-citizen and simplify customs clearance of imported goods, said Aydin Aliyev.
The procedural rules are defined for pre-screening short declarations for import and the annexed veterinary, phyto-sanitary, hygienic and other certificates and special permits issued into circulation and regulating the admission into the customs territory. In accordance with the rules, the "Green Corridor" permit system will be applied in connection with the provision of short declarations on imports. ----08D
