Information on Corruption to Be Encouraged by State
Azerbaijan plans to encourage the provision of information on corruption.
Today's meeting of the Legal Policy and State Building Committee of the Milli Majlis discussed the possibility of adding Article 11.1 to the Law of Azerbaijan On Combating Corruption. The innovation involves written (including electronic) and oral notification of state and municipal bodies and budget organizations of the facts mentioned.
The appropriate bodies are required within 20 working days to consider the application and take steps to inform the vigilant citizen.
The second paragraph of Article 11 requires the state to protect the applicant and his family members from possible pressure and threats from corrupt officials.
The innovation was supported by members of the Parliamentary Committee and recommended for discussion at the plenary autumn session of MM. --17D-
