Iran’s Minister of Communications in Baku
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran Mahmoud Vaez arrived on a working visit to Azerbaijan.
Vaez, who is co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission Azerbaijan-Iran, on Monday will hold meetings with officials and discuss issues related to the planned August visit of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Baku.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry reported that Baku will host a meeting of the Presidents of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan, where the parties will discuss the issues of transit through the transport corridor North-South on August 8 as well as the fight against terrorism and the status of the Caspian Sea.
"Basically, the agenda will focus on the North-South corridor, i.e. the transit from the Persian Gulf to Russia," said the deputy head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Ibrahim Rahinpur last week.
Rouhani also expects to discuss with Putin the situation in Syria.
The meeting of the Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran in August has also been confirmed by the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Azerbaijan, Sergey Lavrov and Elmar Mammadyarov, at their meeting in Baku on July 12. However, Mammadyarov said that the date of the meeting will be determined in August. -0-
