IW Baku city took control of car parking
Already this year, open parking of vehicles will meet European standards. Baku City Executive Power issued an order to adopt serious measures to eliminate illegal parking on sidewalks , roadways , entrances to parks and subway stations.
As stated in the order, the definition of parking spaces and the organization and their work is the exclusive authority of city authorities.
Head of Special Purpose Vehicles Department (SPVD) Baku Executive Power Hasan Abdullayev told Turan they ordered in France manufacture of special parking machines to pay for the cost of temporary parking. The cost of parking will be set by the Tariff (Price) Council depending on the zonal division of the city of Baku. This issue will be resolved soon.
The first batch of parking machines will be delivered to Baku for 1-2 months. By the time will be determined by the deployment of ground parking cars. Payment for parking will be implemented in non-cash form. The driver will be notified of the outcome of term parking by SMS.
The car parking ground organization is entrusted SPVD that will hire people on a contractual basis. Prior to that, this was done by either individuals or the Ministry of Transport. Then control over financial flows completely absent. According to Abdullayev, now collected from temporary parking, the money will come from the state budget.
According to the order of the head of Baku EP, Hajibala Abutalibov, in order to prevent illegal parking SPVD is instructed to cooperate with intelligent traffic management (ITM). In particular, these structures will prepare rules on paid parking lots. ITM is entrusted with creating opportunities for SPVD to use images from CCTV cameras to ensure control over the car parks.
The Executive Power of Baku appealed to the Ministry of Interior in order to receive the motor vehicles registration database to obtain information about their identity. This database is maintained by the Head Office of Traffic Police Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Chief of Police in Baku.
Illegal parking issue became urgent after the criticizing by President Ilham Aliyev made at the Cabinet meeting on April 13 on the results of socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2014 and the challenges ahead.
The total length of roads in the city of Baku is approximately 2,400 km. According to unofficial data, in the city there are at least 1,000 illegal car parking grounds. -08B-

Russia and Iran have agreed on a gas pipeline route passing through Azerbaijan, according to Russia’s Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov. The Russian minister stated that the parties are in the final stage of negotiations, and the volumes have already been determined.
