Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia Sign Memorandum of TMTM
The railway administrations of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia signed a memorandum of association with the International TMTM and adopted its charter, reports khabar.kz.
The agreement was signed in Astana during the meeting of the Coordinating Committee for the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route (TMTM), which was held last week.
The Association office will be located in Astana.
At a meeting of the Coordinating Committee on Development TMTM heads of railway administrations of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia also discussed the creation of the International Association of Trans-Caspian international transport route.
It is worth noting that "the association's activities will focus on attracting transit and foreign trade cargo, development of integrated logistics products from TMTM".
It is planned that the association will work out issues of "an effective tariff policy, optimization of costs and value of integrated services, the creation of a single technology transportation process, contributing to the reduction of administrative barriers related to border and customs procedures and processing of cargo and containers in the ports of the play stations." All these measures are aimed at ensuring the competitiveness of TMTM compared to alternative routes.
In addition, they discussed the establishment of competitive rates on TMTM. The parties agreed the preferential tariff conditions for a number of exports of Kazakhstani goods, including grain, oil and non-ferrous metals, on the territories of the countries - participants of TMTM.
The Coordinating Committee for the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route (TMTM) was established in October 2013. At today’s session of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan’s parliamentarians discussed and approved in the first reading a draft law increasing the minimum subsistence level for 2025.
