Legal Customs Fees Decreased
In October of this year, the State Customs Committee (SCC) accrued 121.9 million manat to the state budget. Compared to the previous month (133.5 million manat) customs duties reduced by 8.8%.
According to the State Customs Committee, last month the amount of customs duties and taxes was lower even than in October 2013 (122.7 million AZN). Analysis of the performance of imports of goods in Azerbaijan shows that the evasion of payment of customs taxes to the state budget is several hundred million manat.
During the ten months of this year through the SCC 1 billion 256,800,000 manat was paid to the state budget. To fulfill the annual plan customs officers need to collect 253.2 million manat. According to the draft state budget for 2015, the bar for customs increased by 80 million manat. The following year, they must collect 1,590 mln. manat.
Independent experts, referring to the mirror statistics of countries that have trade relations with Azerbaijan, indicate that the annual rate of Azerbaijan Customs "missing" items is valued at several billion dollars. Levies on these unaccounted goods are deposited in the "pockets" of corrupt officials. --08B--
