Implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor project is a priority for the EU. This was stated today to journalists by the head of the EU mission in Azerbaijan Malena Mard.
Thanks to this project, already in 2020 the first gas from the field Shah Deniz-2 will come to Italy.
However, she indicated that on May 17 the start of construction of the gas pipeline TAP (Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline) - part of the Southern Gas Corridor will be arranged in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Malena Mard also pointed out that Azerbaijan is the largest trading partner of the EU, which is interested in increasing mutual trade and investment. -16D-
