Ministry of Taxes Plans to Replenish State Budget by Tutors and Maids
BAKU / 22.09.16 / TURAN: The Azerbaijani government intends to replenish the state budget due to non-traditional taxation.
According to the adviser of the Minister of Taxes, Alakbar Mammadov, the payer database will be expanded to individuals without the entrepreneur status. The list included tutors, private repairmen, babysitters, hairdressers and even maids. Judging by the new tax mechanism, they will be registered as self-employed workers and will be given a corresponding patent.
This is not news - recall, such a system is used in Azerbaijan in relation to private cabbies and carriers of goods, which are taxed at a single monthly rate regardless of income level.
Thus, the mechanism has been worked out. The tax authorities should now prepare a list of individuals not registered as entrepreneurs, as well as determine the size of the patent rate. According to experts, the unification of payments will hit the pocket of the population enjoying such services - so, tutors in the center of the capital teach future entrants at least for AZN 100 and more per month, on the outskirts of Baku – for AZN 80, in the regions of the country – for AZN 40-50. Regional difference applies to all kinds of services, so will the Ministry consider the gradation of tax earnings on a territorial basis? --17D-
