Policeman Calls for Violence against Arrested Activist
Baku / 23.09.16 / Turan: Yesterday investigative actions on the case of the arrested youth activist of NIDA, Bayram Mammadov, were conducted in the Baku detention center.
According to the lawyer Elchin Sadigov, a confrontation was held with the policemen Shirali Babayev, Naib Omarov and Farid Babayev and the witness Nizami Guliyev.
‘Bayram Mammadov facing these policemen said they tortured him,’ said the lawyer.
‘Then the policeman Shirali Babayev said that such people as Bayram Mammadov and those who protect and send them should be "baptized" (in the criminal slang to baptize is to judge or to execute).
In drawing up the protocol there was a dispute and the policeman tried to attack us. However, prison officials took him out of the room,’ said the lawyer.
Recall that Giyas Ibrahimov and Bayram Mammadov are accused of drug trafficking on a large scale. However, the true reason for their arrest is graffiti on the monument to Heydar Aliyev: “Congratulations on Slavery!” and “Down with the System!” The case against Ibrahimov has already been submitted to the court. -16C-
