MP Vahid Ahmadov: "Give People a Chance"
In today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis several MPs raised the issue of devaluation of the manat.
According to a member of the Parliamentary Committee for Economy, Enterprise and Industry Vahid Ahmadov, a group of MPs held meetings and consultations with representatives of the government and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, making them a number of real proposals. "In particular, it is necessary to ensure payment of dollar loans, the amount of which does not exceed $ 10 thousand at the old rate of 1.05 manat, increase the level of deposit insurance from 30,000 to 500,000 manat and to begin the consolidation of banks, which will reduce too high credit interest rates," he said.
It is also necessary to strengthen measures to control imports, in particular serious measures to promote domestic production and exports.
Recall, on December 21 the manat to the dollar dipped by 47.7%. On February 21, devaluation weakened the manat by 34.5%, so there was a total of minus 100%. --17D-
