National Low-cost Carrier Buta Airways Created
The meeting of the Board of CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) decided to set up their own low-cost carriers.
The new low-cost carrier, which was called Buta Airways, will be part of the CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines and will become a 100-percent subsidiary of AZAL, the press service of the airline reported today.
The airline will be based in the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
Buta Airways will have its fleet based on the basis of Embraer aircraft in its own color, with its own staff and independent tariff policy, the report says.
“Given the complexity and specificity of the civil aviation business, it is currently working on the functioning of the top budget airline. It is expected that the flights Buta Airways will begin in the autumn of 2017,” AZAL reported.
Work to reduce the prices for air tickets is carried out on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev. Since March of this year under the brand AZALJET flights to 13 popular destinations have been operated. The scheme of sales and flights on these flights is close to the low-cost airlines, i.e. the passengers have a choice of individual services in the form of paid options.
The base fare for all flights AZALJET, including all taxes and fees, is 49 euros. This is one of the most competitive prices of all airlines flying to Azerbaijan. ---08D
