On the agenda - risk insurance in rural areas
The insurers workshop started and will last three days (17-19 September). The aim is to discuss the new model of risk insurance in the agricultural sector.
The chairman of Azerbaijan Insurers Association (AIA) Orkhan Bayramov told Turan the event is supported by the participation of the American expert with extensive experience in this field. He believes that this type of insurance is "rich" risk prevention which is possible with a more active government assistance. Banks are not interested in the issue of unsecured loans to peasants, because special features will help overcome this obstacle, he added.
Local insurers intend to use the experience of Turkey, Germany and other European countries.
Note that the use of a new model of security risks in the agro-industrial complex will require amendments to the legislation.
AIA was founded in December 2006 in order to ensure the development of the local insurance market, as well as performances of the insurance companies with one voice in the discussion of the problems and prospects of this segment of the economy. --17D-
