In January, increase in consumer prices in Azerbaijan amounted to 0.8% year on year. Turan was told the State Committee on Statistics (SCS).
Compared with January 2012, food prices decreased 0.6%. Observations of SCS staff revealed rise in non-food products by 0.5% and in services - by 3.4%.
Inflation in Azerbaijan is based on surveys of prices of 565 goods and services in 54 cities and regions. Alternative estimates of inflation, as a rule, do not coincide with the official figures. - 08B-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
