Online platform for pedestrian safety created
An Internet platform to identify problems on the roads and guarantee the safe movement of pedestrians has been created in Azerbaijan. Today, the public organization "Information technology and the Internet and media" made the presentation of the website https://piyada.gsr.fm, through which citizens can inform the public of any fact which creates problems for the safety of traffic.
The project's coordinator Ilgar Mirza said that anyone who is faced with the lack of a pedestrian strip or an underpass in the necessary places, turning off or no traffic light on the road can send a photo and a video message, or a simple message on the phone or online. After checking the data the information will be placed on the traffic map on the site.
The organizers believe that the public's attention to the problems of safety of pedestrians on the roads will have a positive impact on road constructions. Every year on the roads in Baku hundreds of pedestrians are killed in traffic accidents.
It is noteworthy that the presentation, despite the invitation, was not attended by representatives from the Ministry of Transport and the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights. - 08C-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.
