Possibility of Creating Industrial Quarter in Masalli Studied
The second industrial quarter in a row in Azerbaijan is based in the Masalli region, known for its potential in the furniture industry. The day before, on 3 February representatives of the Ministry of Economy and the State JSC Azerbaijan Investment Company visited the area, where they plan to build an industrial quarter.
According to the press service of the Economy Ministry, during the meeting with representatives of the businesses of the district they discussed the possibility of establishing new industrial enterprises and employment.
The creation of the first industrial district in the Neftchala region continues. For the production of various goods, projects have been presented by about 10 entrepreneurs.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in 2014 in the Masalli district there was recorded a sharp reduction in the production of furniture: while in 2013 the production of wooden office furniture amounted to 23,853 items, the next year this figure fell to 469. Twelve sets of kitchen furniture were assembled, while in 2013 this figure stood at 1,157 items. ----08D

The draft law "On Amendments to the Tax Code," adopted in its third reading, provides for tax exemptions on the sale of locally manufactured buses in Azerbaijan and the supply of spare parts for these vehicles. This was reported by the Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, explaining that the government's initiative aims to support business development in the country by reducing the tax burden. The exemption will come into effect on January 1, 2025, and will remain valid for eight years.

Hundreds of trucks are stuck in the Kazakh port of Kuryk, facing delays for several days while waiting for ferry transport to Azerbaijan, the Azakhstan portal reports lada.kz. The backlog is due to a combination of reduced ferry availability, adverse weather conditions, and an influx of cargo rerouted because of expanded sanctions on Russia.
