Regional Department of Agriculture Begins Operations in May
In May of this year will begin the process of putting into operation buildings in 52 district and city departments of agriculture. They will replace the liquidated 9 regional offices of the Ministry of Agriculture, the press secretary of the agency Murtuzali Hajiyev told Turan.
Under the new structure of the Ministry of Agriculture, the staff of territorial departments of the Ministry will consist of 780 professionals received through selection of civil servants. According to last week’s decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, 9 regional offices, which have had 100 workers since 2002, will be eliminated from June 1.
Recall that the new structure of the Ministry of Agriculture was approved by the Head of State on October 10 last year. According to this document, the staff of the Ministry and its structures includes 1,215 people.
The decision to create regional and city departments of agriculture was made by President Ilham Aliyev who issued a decree "On measures to improve governance in the agricultural sector and the acceleration of institutional reforms" on 16 April 2014. The purpose of these new formations is to implement agricultural policies at the local level, the organization of state support for the sector and effective cooperation with local units of other government agencies. -----08B
