Residential Construction Fell by 8.4%
In 2014 in Azerbaijan was commissioned housing with a total area of 2 million 196.7 thousand m2. This is 8.4% less than in the previous year, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
During the year it was decided to operate 17,428 apartments on 1 million 366.8 thousand m2. This was 3,500 apartments less than a year earlier.
The share of the state was 205.1 thousand m2 of housing, of which 132.6 thousand m2 was living area. Last year, the government met the needs for housing of 3,088 families.
Last year private companies put into operation 1,245 apartments with a total area of 185.2 thousand m2, of which only 105.2 thousand was a residential area.
The State Statistics Committee told Turan that in 2014 housing construction was invested 1 billion 78.8 million manats, of which 30% (327.7 million manats) was financed by the state. Private companies invested 267,400,000 manats in the business. The remaining funds were people’s investment.
In the city of Baku 2,487 apartments with a total area of 478 thousand m2 were put into operation. Investment in housing construction in the capital amounted to 238.5 million manats.
It should be noted that in 2010-2013 the total volume of housing construction in Azerbaijan was 8.6 million m2. --08B--

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
