Russia and Kazakhstan lan to sign protocol of intergovernmental agreement on imashev field
Russia and Kazakhstan plan to sign the protocol of the intergovernmental cooperation agreement on development of the Imashev gas condensate field, Yurii Ushakov, Assistant President of Russia, told journalists.
The gas condensate Imashev field is located in the border zone of two countries. The explored gas resources of the field total over 100 billion cub.m.
The document could be signed during the X Forum of the Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, which will take place in Yekaterinburg on November 11, 2013.
The intergovernmental agreement on prevention and extinguishing of fires, the intergovernmental memorandum on expanding cooperation in industry and the road map on intensification of industrial cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan in 2013-2014 are also planned to be concluded.
In September 2013 Russia and Kazakhstan have drafted the amendments to the protocol of the agreement on development of the Imashev field.
According to the agreement, Gasprom and KazMunaiGas are appointed operators of the project. If earlier the operator could only be in charge if geological study and exploration of the section, according to the new amendments, the operator will have the right to use bowels of earth for geological study and exploration of the Imashev field.
As soon as the project operator obtains the right to use bowels of earth of the Imashev field, it will have to work out the program of its geological study and exploration. Previously Gasprom and Kazmunaigas were in charge of that, reported http://oilnews.kz.--0-
