SOCAR-AQS, Nobel Oil and Archer created joint drilling company
Azerbaijani SOCAR-AQS LLC jointly with Nobel Oil Services and Archer Assets UK Limited have established a joint drilling company Oguz Drilling, reported SOCAR-AQS.
“The companies have signed the agreement. The new company will provide the world class drilling services, including design and modification of drilling equipment and the services for drilling support,” said the same source.
Oguz Drilling will be in charge of training of Azerbaijani employees up to the highest standards of the international drilling industry. The company has been already registered in Baku and is based in Baku.
SOCAR AQS was created in 2007 between SOCAR and Absheron Drilling Company to provide the well drilling services. SOCAR AQS has been drilling from three drilling rigs located on two stationary platforms in the shallow section of Guneshli field.
SOCAR-AQS also performs drilling as a part of the contract with Bahar Energy operation company and on the Umid field by order of SOCAR-Umid JV. Preparation to drilling of the wells on the Western Absheron, Bulla and shallow section of Guneshli field is also in progress by order of Azneft.
