SOCAR considers investing into Iran
Achievement of an agreement between Iran with the “Six” countries has many positive signs for us and we consider various options of cooperation with Iran, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said in his exclusive interview to ANS TV channel.
He said the relationships between Azerbaijan and Iran have always been at a high level: “even before the agreement with the “Six” countries last month, I have paid a successful visit to Iran. I have had meetings with the Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zangane. We have discussed the issues of joint operations. We already have some projects.”
Abdullayev also added that SOCAR is among the main investors at the Turkish market: “SOCAR under the leadership of President is among the biggest investors in Turkey. Why should not we do the same in Iran? Azerbaijan is interested in investing into Iran. We have certain investment projects and operator projects.”
Abdullayev added that SOCAR has technologies, experience, innovations and it will be able to use this experience in Iran if needed.
SOCAR President said that Iran is willing to use the underground gas storages of Azerbaijan (inject in summer and use in winter and it is going to pay for this service), Iran is going to buy commercial gas from Azerbaijan if needed (now Azerbaijan delivers gas to Iran on the basis swap contract ) and etc.
SOCAR has opened its representation in Tehran several years ago.—0—
