State Committee on Statistics: per capita income of the population grows
For the first ten months of this year, the income of the Azerbaijani population totaled 27.1 billion manat, which is 13.7% more than in the comparable period of 2011. Counting the income by the State Committee on Statistics was produced on the basis of macro-economic indicators, data on bank savings, the purchase of foreign currency, domestic turnover and paid services, and other factors
During January-October revenues of citizens in the country averaged about 300 or 296 manat per month. This is 12.2% more than in the same period last year.
It should be noted that the employment of the population (4,421,000 people) to the ratio of the number of citizens is about 47.5%. In the fields of agriculture, forestry and fishing employed are about a third of the workers, whose incomes are two times below the national average. The revenues of educators (350 thousand people) and health workers (165 thousand people) average 170 manat. Over 120 thousand families in the country are officially considered poor, because they have incomes below the need criterion - 84 AZN per family member. Experts believe that these contrasts indicate the serious division of the society into rich and poor.
According to the same official data from a survey of 0.5% of households in the country, every citizen of the country in 2011 had an income of 160 manats a month. The State Committee on Statistics told Turan that this survey did not cover wealthy families, who do not open the doors of their villas to employees of the State Committee. - 08B -
