Sumgait Worker: «We Are Waiting for the Money»
The workers of the enterprise SOCAR Ammonia and Urea Complex for the production of urea and ammonia in Sumgait held a protest in the morning on January 27 against the delay of salaries.
This was announced by an employee of the enterprise Ulfet Hasanagayev to Radio Azadlig.
“The salaries are detained, and we did not receive salaries for December, which the company Atilla-Makina should have given, he said, noting that the funds come from the company Samsung.
According to him, Samsung argues that it transferred the salary funds to Atilla-Makina on time.
Hasanagayev noticed that this is not the first protest. So it was in December, when salaries were detained in November.
We have been unable to get comment on the matter at the plant management and the company Atilla-Makina involved in the project.
By noon Hasanagayev told RadioAzadlig that all salaries for December were given to the plant personnel. The workers are waiting for salaries for January.
The enterprise SOCAR Ammonia and Urea Complex is under construction and is being implemented jointly with the State Oil Company SOCAR and Korean Samsung Engineering Co.
The plant is to be commissioned in 2017. And it is planned that it will produce 1,200 tons of ammonia and 2,000 tons of urea per day. -0-
