Supplements to Salaries of Customs Officers Increased
President Ilham Aliyev signed on January 24 a decree providing for raising of additional payments to salaries of employees of the customs service from 50 to 60% of funds accumulated in the extra budgetary fund of the State Customs Committee. The decree comes into force on February 1 of this year.
The decision to improve the social protection of employees of the State Customs Committee was adopted in February 2011. Then the size of bonuses to wages was 25%. In 2016, additional payments of extra-budgetary committee of the fund were increased to 50%.
SCC does not publish information on revenues and expenditures of these funds.
Earlier, a similar decision was taken in respect of employees of the tax service of the country.
It is well known that employees in many state bodies, ranging from an ordinary worker to the minister, are paid so-called "envelope salaries", which are never fixed. These facts have been disclosed, for example, in the trial of former Minister of Economic Development Farhad Aliyev and senior officials from the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies.
Supplements to wages are paid in the framework of the fight against corruption. ---08D
