Taxable base grew by 8.8%
Compared with the beginning of the year to 1 September, the number of registered taxpayers increased by 47 756 (8.8%).
According to the analytical and information department of the Ministry of Taxes, for the first nine months of this year, there were 54,285 taxpayers. Most of them are individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activity without establishing a legal entity.
As of September 1, the number of registered taxpayers has reached 585 584 According to the calculations by Turan, from the beginning of the year the activities of 6,529 subjects of taxation has been suspended.
Broadening the tax base also plays a role in the growth of tax revenues. However, the Ministry of Taxes does not provide information on the volume of tax payments by newly created JSCs.
During the eight months of this year, the budget income for the Ministry of Taxes was 4 billion 844,900,000 manat (with respect to state taxes), which is 358 300 000 manat or 7.9% more than in the comparable period of 2013. The share of non-oil-gas sector is 57.1% (2 billion 769 million manat) tax revenues. In this case, for the period indicated, revenues from the non-oil-gas sector increased by 15%. --08D--

Azerbaijan significantly increased its rice imports to 52,500 tons in the first nine months of 2024, marking a 15.1% rise in physical weight and a 33.3% rise in import value compared to the same period in 2023, according to government data. The average price per ton of rice climbed by 15.8% to $1,042.17, up from $899.77 last year, further underscoring Azerbaijan’s reliance on imports to meet domestic demand, with 85% of the country’s rice needs covered through foreign sources.
