Taxes Ministry Revealed about 1,000 Illegal Workers Employed
Despite the higher amount of penalties, the level of evasion of labor laws in Azerbaijan remains high. In October as a result of operations carried out by the Ministry of Taxes, detected were 926 workers hired to perform work without a contract of employment with the employer.
According to the Ministry of Taxes, labor law violations were found in 36 taxpayers. The penalties have not been reported.
According to the Code of Administrative Offences, for attracting people to work without a contract, the director of the company may be subject to an administrative fine of 3,000 to 5,000 manats, and the company could be fined at 20,000 to 25,000 manats. - 08D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
