At the currency auction of the Central Bank on Thursday, the manat strengthened against the dollar from 1.7282 to 1.7202 manats. The Central Bank does not provide information on the volume of demand and bids at the auction. On March 16 commercial banks buy dollars from the population in the interval of 1.68-1.70 manats, and sell for 1.73-1.74 manats. The growth of the dollar, which began in October 2016, halted in February 2017. For February and the first half of March, the dollar rate fell from 1.92 manat to 1.7202 manats. -71D-
