Tourism and Travel Fair Opened
Today in Baku Exhibition Center opened the 15th Azerbaijan International Tourism and Travel Fair (AITF) 2016.
The exhibition is attended by 330 companies from 29 countries of the world, in general, representing 80 tourism destinations.
For the first time with the national stands presented Belarus and Ukraine. Selected regional stands belong to Stavropol (Russia), Catalonia (Spain) and Jurmala (Latvia). Newcomers this year are up 33% from the total number of participants.
The number of participants representing the direction of "medical and health tourism" has significantly increased This year, the latest achievements in the field of medical and health and SPA tourism are represented by 32 companies, medical centers, health resorts and sanatoriums of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Italy, Latvia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and other countries.
In the sector of Property Abroad' there are a few companies that offer property in Spain, Turkey, Dubai, Montenegro and Bulgaria.
The internal tourism potential of Azerbaijan will be presented by the stand of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. A wide range of proposals for tourism in Azerbaijan and abroad reflect the exposure of the Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AZTA), which gathered at the booth more than 20 travel agencies, hotels, resorts.
The separate stand at Formula1 Baku European Grand Prix provides all the information about the program of the competition, about where and how to purchase tickets for this long-awaited event - the Grand Prix racing in Europe in the class Formula-1 (F1), to be held in Baku in June, 2016.
On the closing day (9 April), the exhibition will be open to all visitors. -----08D

At today’s session of the Milli Majlis, Azerbaijan’s parliamentarians discussed and approved in the first reading a draft law increasing the minimum subsistence level for 2025. The updated figures reflect a modest rise of 10 manats, setting the nationwide living wage at 285 manats. For specific demographics, the levels are 305 manats for the working population, 232 manats for pensioners, and 246 manats for children. The same session also approved the criterion of need at 285 manats for the coming year, aligning it with the national living wage.
