Transit of Goods Decreased by 35.2%
In January-April this year TRACECA transit through Azerbaijan transported 2 million 261.9 thousand tons of cargo. This is 1 million 228.6 thousand tons or 35.3% less than in the first four months of 2015, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
The railroad reached an increase of 0.4% of the volume of transit cargo. Within four months the Azerbaijani railways transported 1 million 172.5 thousand tons of cargo.
Maritime transport carried 1 million 89.4 thousand tons of transit cargo, which is by 53.1% less than in the comparable period of 2015.
The TRACECA project is funded by the European Union for the development of a transport corridor from Europe through the Black Sea, the Caucasus and the Caspian Sea with access to the Central Asian countries. ----08D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
