Turnover of money transfers in 8 months reached 1.8 billion dollars
BAKU/30.10.13/TURAN : Turnover of money transfers in the banking system of Azerbaijan made in January -August 2013 the equivalent of 1,400.2 million ($ 1.8 billion). Compared with the corresponding period last year is more by 292 million or 26.3%. The volume of revenue is 2.4 times higher than the sum of shipments, which in turn increased by 15% compared to the same period last year.
In August, the turnover of transfers made AZN 232.4 million , an increase compared with August of last year by 38.2 %.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan , the average amount sent increased up from 582.3 manat in January to 1,135.1 in August and received - from 574.8 to 626.2 manat. The number of sent remittances increased from 66 thousand to 74 thousand, and received - from 156,300 to 237,000 .
The total number of recorded remittances in the period was equal to 2,240.6 thousand , including those received - 1,622.2 thousand. - 15B -
