Uber Platform Challenges "Wild" Taxi Drivers
Increasingly popular in Baku is the taxi call service Uber (http://blog.uber.com/uberbaki) from the name of a US company in San Francisco. Meanwhile the capital has introduced premium Uber Black, which takes only the owners of the business class vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes, and Audi.
One reason for the popularity is a radical reduction in prices for services. So, if before a car’s arrival at the required address cost 2 manats, now it is 55 kopecks, the fee per kilometer is reduced from 90 to 34 kopecks, for every minute of the trip - from 20 to 2 kopecks. The fares must be paid by credit card.
Examples of popular routes and prices for the trip are as follows. For residents of Baku: 28 Mall to Metro Inshaatchilar - 2-4 manat, Park Boulevard to the station Metro Ahmedli / Neftchilar - 4-6 AZN. For tourists from Qosha Gala to Hotel Hilton 1-2 AZN. For foreign business people from Port Baku to Caspian Plaza 1-3 AZN. From today also begins to operate a new tariff for the trip to the airport from any part of the city - 7 AZN.
According to the company, Uber platform’s success is efficiency. Through the app the order is distributed to the nearest driver, due to which downtime and idle time decreases. Since the launch of the service Baku Uber could significantly increase the number of partners in the system drivers, reducing the average time for a vehicle supply from 8 to 5 minutes.
The effectiveness of the system creates additional resources with the cost of travel, which can be directed to the further development of business in the city by attracting more users and lower prices.
"Due to the influx of new users, Uber drivers will be provided with a large number of orders in Baku, which will allow them to maintain a decent level of income," assured the service administrators.
Uber in Baku is the most affordable way to get around the city, which operates on the basis of the non-cash payment. Uber Members can assess the cost of the trip before its beginning right through the app. Pricing is fully transparent – there is no need to discuss the fare with the driver or seek change. This greatly contributes to the comfort and safety of the service.
By the way, on May 1 last year,Azerbaijan became the 58th country where the service is disseminated. Call taxi service Uber (https://www.uber.com/ru/cities) is used in hundreds of cities on all continents. --17D-
