Unveiled a relocation plan for road construction project
JSC Azeryolservice at the Ministry of Transport for the first time unveiled a plan for compensation to people, whose property will be demolished during the reconstruction of roads in Azerbaijan. The document, prepared by the URS Infrastructure & Environment UK Limited as part of the expansion from 2 to 4 lanes of the Baku-Shamakhi-Yevlakh road, is posted on the company's website (www.azeryol.az).
In the report, the company noted that the work on the study area is undergoing construction of new two-lane highway Baku-Shamakhi was conducted from November 2011 to April 2012.
The Government of Azerbaijan has received under the "highways-3" project a loan from the World Bank for the construction of the new two-lane highway Baku-Shamakhi length of 71.4 km. It is currently under construction. On each side of the road there is a protective band with a width of 30 m.
This resettlement plan is for the first of three parts of the resettlement activities. The plan provides for the grant of compensation to citizens due to the impact of the project and restoration activities in compliance with the principles of the World Bank.
Resettlement activities can be carried out only on completion of the issuance of compensation. Under the influence of the first phase of the project there will be 16 households in the towns Jengi and Dzheyrankechmez. Almost all the lands subjected to the influence of the first phase of resettlement are public property. However, the families, who in one way or another may suffer losses from the sale of the project, will receive appropriate compensation from the government after the necessary assessment. - 08B-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
