USD Exceeds AZN 1.80 on Foreign Exchange Auction
On the foreign exchange auction of the Central Bank on Monday the dollar was AZN 1.8045, exceeding the previous rate by 2 gapik.
SOFAZ took part in the auction.
Note that according to the new rules of the auction, commercial banks are not allowed to sell currency.
After the abolition of the 4% margin commercial banks themselves determine the exchange rate for buying and selling.
As of January 16, the banks buy the dollar from the population in the range of 1.78-1.82 and sell it at AZN 1.86-1.89. -71D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
