Volume of Contracts for Construction of SCHIP Exceeded 143 Million Manat
The volume of concluded contracts for two years to establish the technical, administrative and engineering infrastructure of Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park (SCHIP), with the development of design estimates exceeded 143 million manat. The works are financed by the state budget.
The management of the industrial park in December last year entered into three agreements with two companies to carry out construction work in the amount of 74 million 468 thousand 898 AZN ($ 91 million).
According to the State Procurement Agency, LLC M-NAF will build the roads inside the park and on its entry, for which it will receive 44.7 million manat. LLC Progress Construction has received a contract worth 29 million 775.2 thousand manat for the construction of a 16-storey administrative building.
In 2014, a contract for the construction of a three storey building of the Vocational Training and supply it with the necessary equipment (12 million 362 thousand AZN) was also awarded to LLC Progress Construction.
SCHIP was created by a decree of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on 21 December 2011. The park management organization operates under the Ministry of Industrial Economics.
The territory of the park consists of 295.62 hectares, of which 114 ha are industrial zone. So far, the right of a resident of the park was received by three companies (LLC Azertekhnoline - 32 hectares, SOCAR Polymer - 50 ha, AzerFloat – 12.4 ha). Park residents are exempt from paying taxes for 7 years.
The social fund of the park, which covers 21 hectares, is created by the state. It will consist of two 16- and 20-storey office buildings, complex exhibitions and conferences, laboratories, workshops and many social facilities.
Note that SCHIP and its residents do not report the results of operations. For example, LLC Azertekhnoline dedicated to the manufacture of steel and plastic pipes was put into operation in early as 2013. However, it is not known how effective its work is. -----08B
