XX Exhibition of Health opens tomorrow
From 25 to 27 September the Baku Expo Centre will host the XX Azerbaijan International Healthcare Exhibition BIHE. Today Iteca Caspian, held a press conference with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Health AR.
This year, the latest developments are from 147 companies from 17 countries, including Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Switzerland, China, the USA and others. A wide range of medical products and services at the exhibition includes medical and laboratory equipment, dental equipment, pharmaceuticals, supplies, high-tech methods of diagnosis and treatment.
Iteca Caspian Director Farid Mammadov noted that for over 20 years the exhibition was attended by more than 2,000 companies from 45 countries that entered into numerous treaties and established joint ventures.
The role of the exhibition in the development of health was reported by the head of the press service of the Ministry of Health Anar Gadirli. On Turan’s question about the negative phenomena in the field of public medicine, despite the huge capital investment (construction and reconstruction of hospitals and diagnostic centers, purchase of medical equipment, etc.) the representative of the Ministry of Health said that medical services in public health facilities (excluding sector hospitals) are free. There is implemented a variety of public health programs, 450 professionals improve their skills outside the country. "As for foreign patients visiting the clinics, it is practiced even in the UK, where the medicine is also funded by the government," stressed Gadirli. The representative of the Ministry of Health sidestepped the question of the application of compulsory health insurance, referred to for almost 10 years.
Exhibition Manager Elmira Agayeva said that for the second year the exhibition has offered the medical tourism sector. The exhibition is attended by 9 international clinics and centers offering medical services abroad, and 2 travel agencies. On the opening day the exhibition will host a conference “Medical Tourism - a new trend in tourism, marketing strategy and branding.”
The business program will be continued by the 8th Scientific Conference on "Modern methods of diagnosis and treatment in obstetrics, gynecology and neonatology" on the second day of the exhibition on September 26 in Baku Expo Center.
Alongside with BIHE two events will be held: the 9th Azerbaijan International Exhibition on Dentistry – Dentistry Azerbaijan 2014 and the 8th Azerbaijan International Exhibition on Beauty and Aesthetic Medicine - Beauty Azerbaijan 2014. These are health care events, in which the state has no presence, and only regulates the licensing of private clinics. --08C--
