Baku / 12.05.17 / Turan: Works on the platform No. 7 at the Gunashli offshore field remained suspended on Friday morning. In general, production from two production wells from platform No. 7 was stopped.
On Thursday, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan suspended all drilling operations to minimize the risk of an accident on Platform No. 7. "The operational team of SOCAR specialists from the neighboring platform and the on-duty vessels supervise the situation," the company stressed.
In general, production from two production wells from platform No. 7 has been stopped.
The gas leak occurred at well No. 319 on platform No. 7 in the shallow part of the Gunashli field, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) said.
"After the liquidation of the gas leak at 16:00 local time near the base the appearance of periodically increasing water flows with gas bubbles began to occur.
The President of SOCAR, Rovnag Abdullayev, who was at the scene, ordered full evacuation of the working personnel from this platform and now nothing threatens their life," the message says.
The company stresses that the gas leakage occurred during the sludge absorption process when drilling well No. 319. The necessary measures have been taken: the wellhead is closed, wellhead parameters taken under control.
On March 14, 2016, SOCAR put into operation platform No. 7 in Gunashli. The platform is installed at a sea depth of 148 meters and is designed to drill 20 production wells, of which 6 are gas wells, and 14 are oil wells.
Drilling of well No. 319 began on April 27, 2017. -0--
